FIANV (Faith in Action Nevada) is a multifaith grassroots organization committed to building power with people of faith and people of goodwill across Nevada. Their mission is to create systemic change by centering the voices of low-income communities, people of color, and the politically disenfranchised by developing leaders from within to reimagine systems through civic engagement, advocacy, and collective action.

Shaunda, FIANV’s Executive Director, brought me on board to shape their social media presence during a high-stakes moment: the 2025 Nevada Legislative Session. They had struggled to find someone who could truly understand their spiritually rooted voice—one that speaks across faith traditions, with clarity and moral urgency.

The Work

My work with FIANV began with building a social media content strategy aligned with the key issues of the 2025 Legislative Session. Together, we developed messaging that empowered people of faith from diverse traditions to take political action. Whether we were addressing housing justice or environmental protections, the goal was to inform, mobilize, and unify Nevadans around a shared moral vision.

The challenge? The legislative session moved fast. There was no script. I had to produce compelling, responsive content (often overnight) to keep the community informed and mobilized. I created motivational content, educational posts, and direct calls to action tailored to each platform: Instagram, Facebook, and X.

FIANV stands out because of its deep-rooted faith values and grassroots organizing approach. That meant my messaging had to be theologically inclusive, spiritually affirming, and politically powerful, all while remaining nimble enough to respond to legislative developments in real-time.

One of the projects I’m most proud of is our campaign work on housing and environmental justice. I crafted narratives that led people from awareness to action: calling legislators, attending hearings, and amplifying the moral call for change.

Beyond Social Media

Beyond social media content creation, I supported FIANV’s digital infrastructure behind the scenes. I helped set up their CRM system (Network for Good), designed branded email templates, and developed tools for segmented email communications—laying the groundwork for future donor engagement and action alerts.

Our early analytics show meaningful momentum:

  • Social media followership increased by 10.2%

  • Posts averaged a 3.23% engagement rate, outperforming the industry average for nonprofits

  • Post reach hit 151 unique users, with 286 total impressions across Instagram, Facebook, and X

  • Every piece of content was mission-aligned—designed to activate Nevadans on critical issues like housing and environmental justice

We’re continuing to grow this impact—rooted in values, driven by strategy.
